What is Occupational Therapy (OT)?

Occupation is anything that occupies our time; it is what we need to do, want to do, and are expected to do. Occupational therapists help people participate in meaningful occupations (activities) to develop skills towards independence and wellness. Occupational therapists look at functional skills as it relates to activities of daily living such as dressing, eating, self-care, play, and social interactions.

We treat individuals of all ages with physical and mental disabilities, as well as developmental and cognitive delays.

Our Vision & Goals

Ashley & Mandy will soon be graduates in occupational therapy and will be traveling to Fuling, China this July along with other occupational therapists, a physical therapist, and a special educator. Your donation will help many children living at the orphanage receive individualized therapy and educational plans to facilitate development towards educational/ academic, physical, social, and cognitive independence.

As a result of this trip:
  • Children with special needs will learn functional skills to help them in their everyday living tasks such as adaptive dressing, eating, and play skills
  • Orphanage caregivers will receive increased knowledge of developmental delays and physical/cognitive disabilities and how to care for these conditions
  • Orphanage caregivers will have the knowledge to carry out therapy plans to maintain and increase function

All funds will be used to cover travel expenses in order for the children to receive OT this summer. Follow-up will be provided upon our return on this website.
